1. About these terms
These terms and conditions apply to every purchase of furniture and every service you order from Office Edit, whether through this website, by telephone or by email. Please read them before you order. By placing an order you agree to be bound by them.
Office Edit is a trading name of ARI Installations Ltd, a family-run business based at Unit 5 Innovation Park, 89 Manor Farm Road, Wembley HA0 1BA. In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean ARI Installations Ltd trading as Office Edit, and “you” means the person or business placing the order.
If you are buying as a consumer (an individual acting outside your trade, business or profession) you have additional legal rights, which are set out in section 7 and in our Returns Policy. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
2. Our products
Unless a listing says otherwise, the furniture we sell is pre-owned. We source it from company relocations and office clearances, inspect and clean it, and describe its condition on every listing using the following grades:
- Used – in good working order with light signs of previous use.
- Refurbished – professionally cleaned, repaired and re-finished.
- Never used and Ex-showroom – as new, with no meaningful signs of use.
We photograph the actual items for sale rather than using manufacturers’ catalogue images, and any notable marks are photographed and described. Minor variations in colour, finish and wear are normal for pre-owned furniture and are not a fault. Where a listing covers several matching items they come from the same office and are in consistent condition unless the listing says otherwise.
Quantities shown are those available when the listing was last updated. All items are offered subject to availability. You are welcome to view any item before you buy: viewings are by appointment at our Wembley warehouse.
3. Prices and VAT
Prices are in pounds sterling. By default they are shown including VAT at the current rate; you can switch to ex-VAT prices using the “inc VAT / ex VAT” toggle at the top of every page. A full VAT invoice is issued with every order.
Delivery and installation are charged separately and depend on your location, the size of the order and site access. We will confirm the delivery charge before your order is accepted. Discounts for bulk orders and full fit-outs are agreed by quotation.
We take care to price our stock correctly, but if an item has been listed at an obviously incorrect price we may cancel the order and refund any payment in full before dispatch.
4. Ordering and payment
Your order is an offer to buy. A binding contract is formed only when we confirm your order in writing (usually by email). We may decline an order, for example where an item has already been sold, where payment has not been received or where we cannot deliver to your address.
Website orders are paid by card at checkout through our secure payment processor; we never see or store your full card details. Business customers with an approved trade account may pay by invoice on the credit terms we have agreed with them. Where we have agreed payment in advance, goods will not be dispatched or released for collection until payment has cleared.
Ownership of the goods passes to you when we have received payment in full. Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to your address or collected from our warehouse.
5. Delivery, collection and installation
We deliver across the UK. Smaller orders in London and the Home Counties are usually delivered within a few working days; larger orders and installations are scheduled with you at a time that suits your office. Delivery dates are estimates and, while we will do everything we can to meet them, we are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our control.
To deliver safely we need clear access to the delivery point, including parking, lift or stair access and any building passes or booking slots your premises require. Please tell us about restricted access, timed deliveries or other requirements when you order. If a delivery fails because access was not available or nobody was present at the agreed time, we may charge for the return visit.
Where you have ordered installation, our team from ARI Installations will position and assemble the furniture as agreed, remove packaging and, if arranged, take away your old furniture at the same time. Installation is quoted separately.
You may collect from our Wembley warehouse by appointment. Please bring suitable transport and, for larger items, help with loading.
Please inspect the goods on delivery or collection and note any damage on the delivery paperwork. Tell us about any damage or missing items as soon as possible and in any event within 14 days.
6. Our money back guarantee
We stand behind everything we sell. If an item arrives damaged, develops a fault that is not consistent with its stated condition, or is materially different from its description, tell us within 14 days of delivery. We will repair or replace it, or collect it at our expense and refund you in full, including any delivery charge you paid for that item.
The guarantee does not cover wear, marks or characteristics that were described or photographed on the listing, damage caused after delivery, or items that have been altered or installed in a way that prevents their return. Full details, including how to return an item and what happens if you simply change your mind, are in our Returns Policy.
7. Cancellation and consumer rights
If you are a consumer, you have the right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel an online, telephone or email order for any reason within 14 days of the day you receive the goods. You must tell us that you wish to cancel and return the goods to us, or make them available for collection, within 14 days of doing so. Unless the goods are faulty or not as described you will be responsible for the cost of returning them, and they must be in the condition in which they were delivered. We will refund the price and our standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the goods back. You also have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if goods are faulty or not as described.
If you are a business customer, you do not have a statutory right to cancel for change of mind. We will always try to help, and may accept a return at our discretion subject to the conditions in our Returns Policy.
8. Buy-back, clearances and services
Where we offer to buy your existing furniture or clear your premises, our offer is made following a survey and is valid for 30 days. It is subject to the furniture being in the same condition, and in the same quantity, as at the survey. Payment for furniture we buy is made as agreed in the offer.
Installation, relocation, clearance, storage and other services are provided on the basis of a written quotation, which will set out the scope, dates and price. Where the scope changes on site we will agree any additional charge with you before proceeding wherever practicable.
9. Using this website
We try to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it is free from errors or that the website will be available at all times. The text, photographs and design of this website belong to us or our licensors and may not be copied or reused without our permission. Links to other websites are provided for convenience and we are not responsible for their content.
10. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss of profit, business, contracts or goodwill, or for any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to a business customer in connection with an order is limited to the price paid for that order. If you are a consumer we are responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
11. Events beyond our control
We are not responsible for any failure or delay in performing our obligations that is caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, road closures, strikes, fire, flood, or the failure of a supplier or carrier. We will let you know as soon as possible and agree a new date with you.
12. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please contact us using the details below and we will do our best to put it right quickly. If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve a dispute, you may be able to use an alternative dispute resolution scheme; we will give you details on request.
13. General
These terms, together with our Privacy & Cookies Policy and Returns Policy, are the whole agreement between us in relation to your order. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to it. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers living elsewhere in the UK may bring proceedings in their local courts.
